A Funny thing to try for April 1st

This isn't a joke, but it is a funny thing to try with a friend if you live in a big city (If it has a metro)...especially now that April 1st is coming up.

1) Go to McDonalds and buy a burger with french fries (make sure they put it in one of those easily recognizable 'McDonald's bags'
2) go to the metro (subway)
3) give the bag to your friend and tell him to come into go to the next station and then enter the next train (where you will be) and hand you the bag.
4) get into the train after your friend's
5) Now - most trains have some sort of intercom (for emergency purposes) with the engineer, so you want to go up to this intercom box, make it look like you are pressing the button and very loudly say (so everyone can hear) "Yeah, hi, I would like a big mac and ummm..medium fries please, thanks!"
At this point people start looking at you 'funny'.
6) At the next station your friend walks in, hands you the bag, and you hand him some money, he then leaves the train at that same station.
7) start eating the big mac or fries to show the people around you that its real
8) you go up to the intercom once more, make it look like you are pressing it and say (so everyone can hear) "Hey again, ummm, could you please go to the last station with no stops in between...im kinda in a hurry...thanks!"

The look on the people's faces is amazing! Especially the older people (they start yelling at you immediately). If you've got nothing to do...try it, and post the results on here so then we can compare (I wanna see the different reactions in the U.K. and U.S. since I did this in Moscow!)
Well, have fun!
Vic

EXACTLY!! AND YOU SHOULD NOT BE USING IT!!!!
Sounds like an immature thing to do in the publics eye  ???

Maybe it works in Moscow, but if you do that in New York or most likely anyplace in the US, the look on people's faces would not be amazing, they would probably tell you to grow up and that in this day & age, emergency equipment is for that reason. While you are playing your joke and using the system, a real emergency might be going on and you are using their equipment!

I think Vic was only suggesting you pretend to do it, not actually use the equipment.

Even so, I wouldn't recommend doing that here in the UK. You would most likely get a punch up the throat or be arrested. Not that you would be able to move far enough to do anything like that on the average Tube train. They pack them in like sardines.

PS. I'm not sure eating food is allowed on the Tube. (London Underground).

PPS. I can't abide practial jokers. >:( :P

fly2e - sorry that I didn't make that clear...ofcourse you don't actually use it  :P think about what the engineer will think/say/do when he hears you order a big mac over the intercom (he'll probably personally kick your ass at the next station) and yes, originally the look is 'grow up', but when you get your order handed to you - thats when the look on their faces gets interesting

hagar - Moscow metro is used by 1.9million people (thats people, not rides, and thats just the number that enter through the gates - the pensioneers dont use them, so the number is probably around 2 million) but its only crowded in rush hour, we did this at about 14:00 on a weekday, all the seats are taken, but not too many standers. Eating and drinking here is permitten, smoking, littering or alchaholic beverages are not...so if you eat anything, any trash you have to take with you as there are no garbage cans inside the metro system...only above ground once you exit (garbage can = fire hazard and a great place to hide a bomb)

Vic

P.S. No harm is done by this, and most people actually laugh when you do the 'last stop and step on it' part.

This is not a funny prank. Use of an emergency intercom as described is legal. Sadly, it's legal, and it's frowned upon by the public. Don't do it. If you actually use the intercom, you could be cited or even jailed. Again, don't be stupid and try this "prank."   :-/

Lighten up.

He says for you to not actually use the intercom.

Let me repeat, in this prank, the intercom is not actually used.

So whats the big deal. Noone is hurt.

The only reason why you would not want to do this prank is that on most trains, you cannot eat or drink. So don't do this prank if thats the case. otherwise, I see no reason why you can't as long as the intercom is not actualy used.

You have never met an armed person high on drugs before, have you? I know some, if you try that, they'd have no problem putting a round right between the eyes. Trust me - pranks are dangerous today. You do something to somebody you don't know, you may end up dead.

It's on my to-do list

By the way, deputy, I've been on the tube and it's practically impossible to get yourself to the intercom cos everyone is so squashed up. By the way I cant wait fo April Fools day. I'm gonna put potatoe juice in the milk bottle and see what my dad does, put talcom powder down the toilet and put clingfilm around the doorframe.

Akula

PS I wonder when my dad will have a mental breakdown...

Any bets???

;D I got a good laugh out of how many people blew this one out of context. They didn't read the part that said to NOT USE THE INTERCOM for real. And I highly doubt the chances of getting "one between the eyes" on this one are high.  Ahh well. I'll be on my way to Florida on an MD-90 on April 1st. So have fun.

Deputy, I didn't miss that part about skipping the rest of the stations.. Some people would be upset initially but it is at that point that the joke is over, you laugh or whatever and say that you are just messing around. They will also understand as soon as the train stops at the NEXT station and doesn't actually skip them... ;)
