Once back in the late 70's, I was a Sheriff's Deputy in Florida. We had gone on a simple call to the far east of the county out in the "sticks", even beyond the giggly weeds. We were going back to our police cruiser when we noticed a Bobcat enjoying a nice scratch on the roof of our car on the red and blue light bar. My partner was in a hurry to get back to our normal patrol area. He was going to try and bop the cat with a night stick....and he was the seasoned veteran. I had him hold up as I made my way around the car. I proceeded to withdrawal my can of mase and let the Bobcat have it. Much to my amazement the stream of chemical hit the bull's-eye on the rear of the cat. Well this cat jumped about 4 feet in the air and took off running. It sounded rather funny, not to mention looked real funny scooting along on the ground with it butt dragging the ground and pulling itself along with it's front feet at a rather rapid pace trying to get the burning chemical off it's a-hole. I thought my partner wouldn't be unable to drive from laughing so hard.

This cat was woofing something terrible....lmao!

;D

Heck, my partner wanted to clock the Bobcat with the speed gun to see if it set a new land speed record for a-hole dragging.

The poor Bobcat....OMG....I just realized the cat families habit of cleaning itself..... :o....bet that left a real nasty taste in it's mouth..... ;D.

My poor partner was laying on the hood of the car laughing his butt off. Darn fool laughed so hard he was crying. For some strange reason the Sheriff got a good hoot out of it also when he read the report.  ;D

Animal cruelty is nothing to be proud off! I hate to be saying it, but if there is one thing i get furious about than it's this kind of behaviour towards innocent and helpless creatures...

Now, to end in a possitive way i'll not forget this thing happend about 30 years ago, and you wouldn't ever do it again ...  ;)  :)

Whoops... Think i'll have to do some more research before commenting...  :-[

I though Romulus was talking about a little stray cat... not some wild cat. My mistake...

But i stick with my point around cruelty, i've seen to much "fun" with domestic animals lately that made me sick...

So there is no need for a pissing contest, i am a relatively forgiving bloke and i'd like to stay friends with you guys...!  ;D

BTW isn't a bobcat a kind of machinery? Wouldn't like to see one of those on top of my car...  ;D

LOL, good one OMAG....Somehow I don't think the mase would have had the desired repellent effect on that "Bobcat". The initial reason I sprayed the Wild Animal Bobcat was to repel the Bobcat w/o the need for being hit with a night stick or otherwise harmed. Hitting the "Bulls-eye" on the rear of the cat was purely an accident. It was just hilarious to watch it's reaction. It is doubtful the mase did any more harm to the cat than it would have to a human.

Meyekul, It is rare that Bobcats will kill humans. But at least in Florida in the late 1970's there had been several attacks on children and the one fatality. The authorities felt that all the attacks were due to one animal. All I know is after the one was killed, the attacks stopped. Normally Bobcats give humans a wide berth.

Iroquois, I have come up on several Black Bears while deer hunting in New England. Luckily they were good tempered and provided me a chance to watch these amazing animals up close and personal. Actually, one was rather curious about me and I got rather nervous when he got a bit closer than I felt comfortable with. I also had a run in with a rather ugly Bull Moose that I was worried I'd be forced to kill it in self defense. But it lost interest and trotted off into the woods.

Bears are NOTHING compared to my little sister. I can't wish her on anyone as its against the Geneva Convention and I don't even hate my worst enemies badly enough... ;D

Just like to point out:

Maze won't do any permanet physical harm to the animal.

And now thats experienced this, it will avoid any contact with humans as it will fear us which is a good thing. Park rangers scare animals like bears to keep them scared of humans. Thats also why they tell you not to feed ducks at the park.
