Eve, In Retrospect

What are you laughing at?

Eve, In Retrospect

In the latter part of the last century, a fellow by the name of Barry McGuire, the more notable of many who recorded a version, revised a particular song after he accepted Christ as saviour. While I read of God creating the first woman for Adam and how she, after enticed by the serpent, then enticed Adam to sin, I pondered why He didn't put a warning sign on her. Perhaps something like, 'Caution — Eve of Destruction' ?

Because as men, we have to learn to be on our toes. For while Eve was deceived by the serpent, Adam sinned knowing that the fruit of that particular tree was forbidden by God...Can't blame further misjudgements on our women...Guys, that falls squarely on our shoulders. lol... I love that song, it is on my playlist to listen to while I am flying cross country, either FSX or in search of fun in the real world skies...

All three knew and were cursed. Adam sinned knowing the fruit was forbidden as well as enabling Eve to continue to sin; Eve told the serpent it was forbidden but conceded, anyway, then enticed Adam so that she could share the guilt; the serpent, with full intent of disgracing Eve with his beguilement, had to slither off — but not totally with de-feet.

And now we are all cursed because that woman was tricked by a talking snake. Go figure! Oh well at least she inspired a cool song, one of my favorites.

I hope you realise it was all allegorical and they were not real people.

Uh, wrong...I knew Eve in the 80s. A waitress, and she was indeed real. And she had the power of destruction! I know this because she destroyed me on every date we had...Not sure I've caught my breath yet from the 3rd one...WOW  :D

Yep, been the same story since the Dawn of history - there was a barmaid named Dawn at my local pub back in the '80's - she had some history, believe me!
