I love dogs.The look of guilt on their faces really
makes me laugh.

I wish I could afford to have a dog but the costs are
out of my league.

Having lived very comfortably on my own-some for the past 40+years .... ....

...the thought of a Female Dog* for companionship has crossed my mind on occasions until I remember that they crap, and it all has to be collected and disposed of.

The Dog also requires/demands being taken for long walks in all weather; Summer, Winter, rain or shine, day or night....
...and their crap still has to be collected and taken back home in a plastic bag (the law demands it).

You can't leave them alone at home on their own, 'cos they bark non-stop, and you can't take them with you on visits to other folks...because they don't want them around doing what Dogs do.

Anthin....dont spend time feeling empathy watching sad Dogs on You Tube...

...like Female Humans, they have the ability to make you get involved with things that are bad for you.

Just watch them on You Tube...occasionally...and be thankful that you don't have to carry a plastic bag around with you wherever you go ... ...!

Yes.There is that.The messes,plastic bags etc.

As for visitors.I have never had a vicar,priest,monk,
whore monger,or international slave driver come around
to my house.So a male dog would not be able to practice
it's humping procedures on the legs of above bogies.

Considering your concern here, I feel I should make you aware. We had dogs and cats on our farm and two of the cats of the same age were almost like brothers. The dog, part Spaniel and part Spitz, we got about the same time. The cats weren't best friends with the dog but they got along -- no wild chases. However, unlike the dog, the cats learned to dig a bit of a hole into the soil, then deposit and cover their 'fertilizer' in it. Of course, our cats had 135 acres of our land upon which to search out appropriate soil as well as ample acreage of adjoining farmland.
Now, Mr. Fozbery, what is the demeaner of your neighbors? I mean, have they the odd British humour, something akin to Monty Python/Fawlty Towers, whereupon they've acquired their felines to get back at their neighbor's fertilizing machine, with you, unfortunately, stuck in the middle? These cats are undoubtedly trained not to fertilize their own owners home area. Now if you were to be friendly enough with them (the cats, it's too late for befriending the neighbor to reverse the problem), you might retrain them to leave your lawn be and continue to aggravate the owners of one another. To add to your pleasure, you might actually get some cats of your own and train them accordingly -- so you can share with your neighbors what they've been sharing with you. **

...like Female Humans? You Tube too quickly kills my data time so I'm obviously out of the loop ...there's been the occasional scared-out-of-your-wits pants wetting over here but I never realized British girls were so prone to let loose.
Also be warned, the cats we had realized the doorknob opened the door and the dog knew they were often allowed in. One day he saw them trying to turn the doorknob; having a lot more strength than they, he got his two paws on the knob and opened the door for them (and, since the door remained open, he let himself in, too).
Be careful Foz -- hope the cats don't get in cahoots with a dog.. and maybe you should keep your doors locked.

** P.S. It's just a thought -- no need to tell anyone you were encouraged here...
