Look out for the train!

What are you laughing at?

Look out for the train!

Postby OldAirmail » Mon Jul 17, 2017 8:45 am

Most of the people have a good laugh after being surprised.

The guys in the car pull up behind a bunch of cops in a line, with their backs to the car. When the train horn goes off, one cop starts to pull his gun, but then they seem to have the most fun of anyone in the video. :D

Many people just treat it as a loud noise, but from their reactions you can get a good idea of who know that the sound represents a real train.

Quite right!
I suspect that its because of the law regarding noise nuisance
We can have similar noise checks over here if there are complaints.

America has annoying train horns on their motor cars.
We have annoying sound systems in the boots of motor cars.

...anything to make excessive noise and annoy folks!.... ...!

Peace and quiet, is what I like!.... ....!

the car.
Pretty large fine otherwise.

...OOOpppsss.... :o ...!

The proverbial argument... ;) ...

..does a noisy exhaust save lives?

I must admit that the normally purring exhaust system on my Honda Cruiser Motorcycle, has been; "slightly" modified... ;) ...., to attract the attention of mobile-phone-tapping pedestrians, and motorists who are completely unaware of my nearby presence!

Like Pedal-cyclists, we are mostly invisible to other road users!... :( ....!

Motorcycle "noise" is included in the English Motorcycle Ministry of Transport Vehicle Test (MOT), but unless it is deemed "excessive/unacceptable", then it is mostly ignored....Phew!

A Harley Davidson Street Glide Special, with a Stage 5 upgrade, and a Vance & Hines exhaust system, can be either "Heart-stirring", or "Heart-stopping"!.... ...!

...mine is somewhere in between... ;) ...Trust me!

We have a state law on the books allowing for someone to build their own vehicle; should be able to incorporate a large ship's foghorn as part of a bicycle/motorcycle frame...
If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have. Before NH had "LIVE FREE OR DIE" at the top of our vehicle number plates (originally only on our 'vanity' plates), there was the simple word "SCENIC" to accompany 'NEW HAMPSHIRE" at the bottom; many visitors come during the autumn to see our multi-colored decidious trees, many of which are lined along sections of our highways. A couple of 'boom-boxed' cars go by, evidently trying to blast each other off the road, make it evident why the trees natural adornment are called 'leaves'.
We have our annual motorcycle races (in June) and, as Fozzer indicates, some are plenty loud. However, if we ever get a boom-box car convention... well, I can envision tree leaves and featherless birds bobbing all about in air to ground...
and a resultant earthquake with all our broken dishes on the floor...
H, shaking about as the boom-boxes go by...

I said because it was raining and I wanted to see how long you where going to stand out side in it"

.... ... ... ..!
