Sorry about checking in so late for this but the truth needs to be known in regard to Jolly Green Giant vs Santa Claus...

In most cases I probably wouldn't make a good lawyer -- but this frivilous lawsuit needs to be thrown out of court. Evidently, Mr. Giant's attorney is lacking in the same scholastic area as his client -- spelling.

During the previous century there was a song about the The Jolly Green Giant whereupon said Giant's character was lambasted. It seemed to support the claim that the big green fellow was a tyrannical labor boss out in the plow fields. He insisted upon lyrical revision but settled for a compromise. "With his hands on his hip" replaced one original line. If this line hadn't been omitted we might only know him now as the Green Giant (or something other than "Jolly") -- and this lawsuit wouldn't even be in court. Following are the original lines with the omitted one in bold print:

You've heard about the Jolly Green Giant
He's so big and mean
He stands there laughing
Yelling, "Hoe! hoe! hoe!"
Then he hits you with a can of beans!

Now you know... different words altogether...
