Another effect of Dyslexia is on your memory: Locking the front door setting off down the road and not remembering locking the door, returning to find you had locked it!
I put it down to memory loss as a result of old age. The onset of my dotage or possibly Alzheimer's (I sincerly hope not as this must be terrible). I never associated memory loss with Dyslexia. As I understand it Dyslexia is a form of "word blindness" (as Eno mentioned earlier) & present from birth. I'm becoming more forgetful as I get older but I've never had a problem with reading or writing. It's the simple things that are forgotten, as a simple aid to the door set up is to stick your tounge out at the door or slap it lightly after locking it, you will remember these, there by remebering that you did lock the door!![]()

Good suggestion. I must try that.

It works for me

) syndrome. This often happens to me & I remember what I went for as soon as I leave wherever I went to.
I'm sure this is quite normal memory loss. Most people will experience this at some time or other, whatever their age. I'm sure it's nothing to do with dyslexia. As Woody pointed out, It's quite likely a dyslexia sufferer would be unable to read or spell the name of their complaint.

This is a popular misconception, "Dyslexia" is a general term, like saying your ill, it covers a lot, the most common being letter blindness, hence people only think of the spelling/reading side.

It must be terribly frustrating as many people suffering from dylexia are apparently very intelligent. Until the condition was recognised they were accused of laziness & not trying.

This is the risk you run if I get involved.![]()
