No Doug, it's just that there is either all or nothing. Simple. Pete chose nothing and so politics and poking fun at governments is banned. Occasionally though these rules are bent. ::)

Maybe you should try observing those rules yourself before enforcing them on others. Pots & kettles or something like that. ::) ;)

Lol, I thought exactly the same thing.

I'm still wondering why I posted that... :-/ it wasn't too far off what most people were saying but one paragraph should have been left out and I should, never have expressed the feeling I felt at someone elses post.

I think it's about time that some people realised that jokes about politicians come with the job. Not only do they expect it but most even enjoy the jokes too. There were a lot of cruel satirical cartoons of Maggie Thatcher published in the newspapers every day she was the British Prime Minister. If she liked one she would often ask the cartoonist for the original. She apparently had a whole wall of number 10 Downing Street covered with them. Whether you believe in her politics or not, Maggie was my type of politician.

It was a joke for goodness sake. I suggest some people need to get a sense of humour & lighten up before they make everyone else as miserable as they are.

Aye, tis why I pointed out that if it had been someone else it would have been ok...for example if we were to do the same thing to bill gates everyone I know would be there to help.....but maye it's just me....

It's not just you. Trust me. It might be difficult to believe at times but this is how the vast majority would look at it, whatever their political views. A perfectly harmless joke. Have a good giggle & move on. ::)

I'll take the piss out of any politician whichever political party they happen to belong to. That's what they're there for & the vast majority of politicians have a sense of humour (I sincerely hope although I sometimes wonder) & appreciate the joke too. They most likely make jokes about each other. It also means they're successful & the more jokes about them the more successful they are. Nobody make jokes about unknown or obscure politicians as there would be no point.

One way or the other Doug, it was a very political joke, something that some of this site's (I would assume younger) members can't handle.  Instead of replying-

lol, good joke :)

people have no self control and must respond

OMG BUUUUUURNNN!!! I WISH IT WAS SOOOOO TRUUUEE! >:( >:(

That's why they shouldn't be posted in the first place.

Bill Gates is not the President of the United States.

There is no debate, no strong feelings over Bill gates.

There are absolutely explosive, fiery sentiments about Bush, sentiments which will trigger a flame war almost immediately and have no place in this forum.
