Hello Chums...
Every time I look at a typical Photograph of a typical location in the U.S. I am ALWAYS amazed at the preponderance of overhead cables; High Voltage Power distribution lines, Domestic Electricity Poles and Transformers and cables, Telephone poles and cables, etc, invading the skyline, where ever we look!
Many picturesque scenes are spoilt by all the Poles and Cables!
Over here, in Great Britain, the majority of such cables and equipment are located/buried underground, and out of sight, out of mind....invisible!..

...!
Take Tornado Valley, as a typical example. All the power lines, etc, are located overhead, and always liable to damage due to violent Storms, and suffer expensive power outages, resulting in enormous cost to repair and get back on-line again!
Why is not this equipment protected at ground, and underground
