Paddy and Mick were both laid off, so they went to the unemployment office.    When asked his occupation, Paddy answered, 'Knicker Stitcher.  I  sew da elastic onto ladies' knickers and thongs.'

The clerk looked up Knicker Stitcher on his computer and, finding it classified as unskilled labour, he gave him

Ok fine i did have a little grin. :) Oh and nice spitfire which one is that.
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

IAC-161, a Tr.9. This photo was taken shortly after she'd been rebuilt, flying in Irish Air Corps colours.
She is based at Duxford and is frequently displayed by John Romain, a terribly nice chap!

I'll admit it.
Why would I want to not admit smiling over a funny joke?

Hey Club, hold on to your hat, we have two Doug's around here. One of them will probably correct me if I used that comma wrong. ;)

I might as well live up to my undeserved reputation. In this case the letter S on Dougs makes it plural (more than one) so no apostrophe is necessary. :P

...and proper grammar asks an 'ly' suffixed to wrong: an alternate construction would be "...if I wrongly used that comma." However, it is becoming very common to mix adjective and adverbial forms, subjective and objective forms. The most common is possibly some form of, "It is me;" the proper rendering is "It is I." It's so often mistated that "It is I" now sounds wrong (adj. -- subject modifier).

I'm beginning to suspect that the two Doug's are either getting terribly pedantic or are, in fact as I suspect, an old married couple, 'cos they sure sound like one ;D ;D ;D

Of the two Dougs indicated, Doug's posts are the only ones posted in this thread.

Typing, in itself, presents its own problem; you should (not) see the original amount of typos and omitted or added letters; tapping the 'e' and 'r' simultaneously is common for me. Should I also continue to misstate mistated? :P

PS Heaven forbid should I ever attempt typing in Gaelic -- I'd certainly take someone off of the Irish unemployment line..
