An airline pilot and a priest are waiting in line in front of the pearly gates. St. Peter asks for the former airline captain to step forward and says, "Oh Captain Jackson we are awfully familiar with your work up here. Here is a silk robe for you and a golden staff, come on in." The airline captain goes into heaven and disappears behind the clouds.
St. Peter then calls the priest. "Father Nelson welcome to heaven, here is a cotton robe and a wooden staff." The priest thinks for a second and says, "I don't mean to be nosey but I'm just wondering why the airline pilot ahead of me got a silk robe and a golden staff and I got a cotton robe and a wooden staff after I've devoted my life to God." St. Peter chuckles a little and says, "Father Nelson, up here in heaven we work by results. While you preached people slept and while that airline captain flew people prayed."
