THE BAND'S LAST STAND
One had one thought
That wouldn't leave his head
Forget about that birthday car,
I want a bass, instead.
A second got his dad's guitar
Who said, "James, this is for you."
A third got a tiny set of drums
When he was only two
They practiced day and night
Until they joined to form a band
And finally got their chance -
It was going to be so grand.
They played for all their worth,
When they got upon the stage,
But the crowd did not receive them well -
Its response was outright rage
The crowd took the bass guitar
And burned it up in flames.
They ripped the strings from the lead guitar
And wrapped them all 'round James.
They converged upon the drummer -
Now scared out of his wits -
And took each of his drums
And broke them all to bits
It's a sad state of affairs
That befell our little crew:
The bass guitarist cannot touch base,
He does not know what to do.
James is all strung up
And can't get on his feet.
The drummer is no better off
He's now a sad deadbeat.
Have a good day all -- see from you in a couple
