Navy rules

I came across this and had to share, it appears that when pilots landed on the wrong carrier the deck crew would be allowed to graffiti the plane... this guy must be related to Mr. Magoo!

OK true story time again!
While I was with a squadron on-board the U.S.S. Eisenhower back in 1980 one of "our" F-14 jocks mistakenly landed on the U.S.S. Independence which was in fairly close proximity during our little war games with the Indy's task force. We could never figure out how you can mistake a nuke carrier for a fossil burner but he did. The next day when he trapped back aboard Ike his aircraft was graffiti-ed just as bad as the one in the picture. Guess who had to clean it up? The pilot and RIO did. Couldn't pawn that one off on the enlisted pukes. I actually saw them scrubbing their butts off down on the hangar deck and their squadron Maintenance Officer was right there keeping an eye on them.

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
