X-Plane 10 vs FSX

Not sure where this actually goes, but I'm posting it here.

After adding my 2nd Saitek COM/NAV Panel last year, FSX didn't seem to like it too much and wouldn't load.

Nice set up "BE58D"... :)

I can tell you now I get more than annoyed with Windows7 and FSX even with a high end computer and many payware products like REX and ORBX.

Not a computer genius by any means I still think the way to go is with a:
-homebuilt motion flight simulator
-capable of single and multi engine flight simulation
-an operating system that out performs Microsoft Products

There are already several complete units which work well with several different motion platforms on the market.

They do cost four or five thousand American Dollars and then there is the added cost of the motion platform which is probably close to the cost of the unit.

I did call one American Manufacturer last year who told me they had no problem modifying their unit to simulate single and multi-radial engine aircraft with Carburetor Heat Control Handles and Cowl Flap Controls and no extra cost.

I was impressed with the Warranty they offered and the fact they would come here to Canada to set up the entire unit.
They were friendly, patient and very informative on the phone about several of the aircraft I mentioned.

I am waiting to see how one of our son's and grandson make out with the motion simulator they are building.

Thanks Flying Trucker.  I think X-Plane has great potential.  The Saitek issues maybe more of a Saitek driver issue than X-Plane issue.  The remaining quirks are definitely an X-Plane issue.
