Good day everyone,
I write this introduction with some hesitation as I'm to flight sims. I just installed FSX with the Accelerator on my new Alienware laptop. I've wanted to learn to fly forever and it seems this might be my only avenue. So, here I am, all fresh and new.

can anyone direct me as to where to start, is there a newbie section in the forums?

Also, I would love to multiplay and or be part of a VA if at all possible. I know I have lots to learn, my FSX flight training started today.

Anyways, looking forward to learning and meeting people.

Thanks!

Welcome!

How about starting with the "Lessons" in the Flight Sim?
There is a lot of help and advice available in the opening Flight Sim screen.

Start off with a "trainer" aircraft first...the default Cessna 172, and practice, practice, practice!

We've all been there, and succeeded... :)...!

For Multiplayer, head down to the Multiplayer Forum. (There you will get one-to-one help, whilst on-line!).

Paul... 8-)...!

Excellent!!

You will soon get the hang of it, starting with the little trainer.
Lots of take-offs, circling, landings, and touch-and-goes!

Take it all steady, bit by bit, most of it is common sense, and you will get to learn all sorts of interesting things along the way....slowly...
...above all...

...don't take it too seriously...and have FUN!... :D...!

Paul.... 8-)...!

One advantage of sim flying over real flying: every flight can be enjoyable  ;D

At any rate Gliderman, welcome to SimV! Be sure to explore the vast free-ware library here and if you can/ when you are ready, join us on the server in multiplayer flights. Myself and a Jetprop are always looking for someone else to fly with while Fozzer is taking one of his legendary food induced naps  ;D

On a serious note, practice touch-and-goes repeatedly as they build your understanding of the aircraft and build proficiency better than any other single activity.
"Flying is the 2nd greatest thrill for a pilot....landing is the first!"

So practice practice practice  8-)
Let me know if you ever want some company in the virtual skies on the SimV server.
