So I've put up drapes on my daughters bed. Done the shopping. Helped do housework. Repaired a Lego Star Wars epic crash (looked like the Death Star after it'd had the X-Wing experience).
So what manner of sensible adult things could I do? Find the foam disk guns and have a massive Wild West battle around the house with the kids ;D ;D ;D
Being a dad is really just an excuse for having a second childhood isn't it? 8-) 8-) 8-)

Hi Mark... :)

That is so true...we, the old girl and I grew up with our children and had as much fun as they did.

Me being away flying for sometimes several weeks at a time, I would take weekends or days off to fly bush aircraft.

I tried to work my monthly schedule so I had a least one full week at home plus perhaps a weekend.

Not quite as hectic as some military aviators who could be gone for months at a time.

When I retired and lived on the old homestead the eldest son has now we would have the grandchildren for several weeks during the summer and perhaps three or four days during the winter.

Being a grandfather and great grandfather is just as difficult if not harder as being a dad sometimes.

The old girl says I spoil them all...and...sometimes the children get away with things they shouldn't...according to their mom and dad... :P

When our children come to visit we still sit around the kitchen table and talk, play music, sing and have fun.  We always include the grandchildren also.

Mark you will be going from dad, to grandfather (boy I would like to be there when your daughter brings home her first boyfriend... ;D) and on to great grandfather.

My advice to you...don't wear out your back and knees... ;D...you have a long ways to go yet... ;)

Doug, I'm well prepared for the first time Emi brings home a boyfriend. I've got an armoury here that'd give a Texan Nazi a hard-on ;D ;D ;D
No mercy will be shown...
