Michael Greenblatt from FS-GS (http://www.fs-gs.com/index.html) passed away last night from a 4 month battle with cancer. He devoted his every waking moment to helping others with their flight sim problems and literally 1000's are in his debt for making their swimming experience what it is today. I met Michael back in 2003 right here at Simviation. He had approached me on trying to imporove my screenshots and within a year we were talking every other day. He turned me onto payware and really got my sim running at peak performance. I went thru 3 machines with Michael and countless hours on the phone both about MSFS and personal. He butted heads with many in the FS community due to his abrupt attitude and run ins with others who wanted to question his practices. Still, Love him or hate him, he was a pillar of this community and will be sorely missed...

Fair winds Michael...

Just got an email about this myself, and I felt my stomach churn at the thought of it.

I remember sharing fun times (and arguments) with Michael a couple years back over a few screenshots. I had in fact been thinking of contacting him about performing an FS-GS treatment a few weeks ago, but my education got in the way.

I wish his family the best and offer my condolences.

The (sim)world is a better place because of him, and will be a bit of a lesser place with his passing.

Godspeed Sir!

Yes I remember Michael well. Some people are too touchy and don't like argument - but what a hellish world it would be if we all agreed with each other. He put some over sensitive people off but overall he was a great contributor to our great hobby. We need more like him!!

RIP Michael and sympathies to your loved ones.

Mike helped me through my early days in FS, he always came across as grumpy and opinionated but once you got to know him a little you realised he was a man with a heart of gold who loved sharing his passion for FS and helping people.
I will always treasure our little chats and his very acerbic wit.
Fair winds and blue skies Mike :'(
