So I would like to Purchase my own headset to use in the Bonanza when I fly with my friend, and in the future for use in flight training. What would be a good brand for a first buy that is easy on the Wallet? I've been looking at some Cobra ones on eBay, they look nice, but is it the same Cobra that makes the Trucker CBs and GPS units? They are $99-$119 and have the noise cancelling feature.

Just a guess, but by noise cancelling I think they mean passive noise cancelling, which just means they are insulated, not the active noise cancelling like the Bose or high end David Clarks have. Other than that, I've never heard of Cobra headsets, but if you are just looking for something to wear while in a friend's airplane, you probably don't need to spend a fortune.

IDK, it says "Noise Cancelling Microphones." Possibly for when you breathe into it or the wind, i don't know. I will use it for the friends plane, but also I would want to use it for flight training and eventually when I get my PPL. Bose and the David Clarks are very nice...that will come as I get older and have more money.
