Ah, I heard about that movie shooting! A terrible thing.... :'(
I do not live in Colorado, but a ton of my friends were out seeing the Dark Night movie at the time of the shooting... Glad it wasn't them!

Antis are already tarring all people who own or carry guns what are not police or military with the same brush.

They just won't accept that there are just plain wack jobs out there.  Nothing is going to prevent them from going over the edge.

I have been carrying a firearm every day for twenty years and haven't gone on a murderous rampage.  Wait for it!  I am not a po-po or a serving member of the military.

Expect to see the blood dancers cavort all in this lake.

The Bad Unkie is a bit down.

Here we go again.

"Holmes was apprehended within minutes of the 12:39 a.m. shooting at his car behind the theater, where police found him in full riot gear and carrying three weapons, including a AR-15 assault rifle, which can hold upwards of 100 rounds ..."

Small correction Webb.

Machine guns are legal in the states under certain conditions.

You must have one purchased before the 1986 ban on the sale of new machine guns to the general public and you must have the Federal tax stamped paperwork for any machinegun owned.

Simple enough.  I used to have a Thompson Sub-Machine gun.  Full auto rock-and-roll boogy!  Purchased it from one of my dad's former employers.  Unfortunately, money got tight and I was forced to sell the critter.  Sold it thru a gun shop and the purchaser had to pass the NICS backround check as well as jump thru the additional Federal hoops required to purchase the full-auto.

The Bad Unkie Has Facted Checked You!  little lol there

Yeah, I remembered US v. Miller incorrectly.

The law did not completely ban fully automatic weapons.  It just imposed a federal registration and tax.

You can follow the links to see what the law says.  It's a virtual ban by means of harassing people so much that it's not feasible to legally own a full auto.
