HEY...WHAT DO I KNOW

Good evening everyone...

Every once in awhile I try to type something out that might benefit at least one person here on our forums and then I know my effort was not wasted.

Passing seven decades now with three nearly full logbooks, an ATR and more paid flying hours than I probably deserved the old girl and I sometimes sit at the piano or organ and pound out a few old tunes while always, always coming back to this question.

What are we going to leave our grandchildren and great grandchildren?

The old girl is a very good aviatress in her own right, Commercial License and Instrument Rating.

Our own children have just about everything they could want and

Sometimes I also look at my two sons (kids... one of them is taller then me...) and ask myself: "where are my two little kids who used to climb to my knees"? And of course, I worry every minute of my life if  I did/am doing enough, teaching them enough about life, giving them the right set of values etc. Well Sir, I think that in the end all comes to hope and faith. Hope that we teached them good enough to go trough life like good and decent men, and faith on their one capabilities to do just so. As you refer to your grandchildren, I know that you went trough the same process with your children... It all comes to basics: if our children are raised as good and decent humen beings, they will surely do the same for their children (at least we hope so...
They will all fly alone eventually, is it not? Best thing we can hope is that we are "still at the airport" to see them take off

Everything said here is very well put.  I will take a moment here to let everyone know that the most rewarding thing I've EVER done is being a Dad!
