The British Heart Foundation used to do an annual off-road across the Kent Downs, they have three distances, 25, 50 and 100 miles if I remember correctly (we've been discussing this as next years event, either that or Devizes/Westminster Canoe Race).
I'll have a dig around for you, meanwhile you could do worse than look at their website, they've got a few lined up for the rest of the year http://www.bhf.org.uk/get-involved/even ... rides.aspx

Thank you!

I'll have a look around and see what's best for me. And tomorrow I will try and up it to about 10 miles and see how that goes.

For anyone who has done races/events before... Do you train for the full distance, or practise going only part of the length of the course? I know people practise full lengths for marathons, etc, but for longer races?

I'd always train to just over the distance, just to build up stamina. It'll be tough enough on the day without being properly prepared ;)
