Well that was a nice night...

Just watched 'Apollo 13' with Alexander and Olivia (my 10 year old twins).

I thought they would lose interest 20 minutes into it because it's a little outside of their age bracket, but they were enthralled. Olivia got a little bored towards the end, but Alexander sat there the whole time. Both would ask questions about what that was or why did they do that, but they couldn't take their eyes from the screen the whole time. I told them at the start it was a true story and they kept asking all the way through 'You mean this really happened?' :)

A pleasant surprise..

Then to top it off, I just put Alexander ot bed and asked him if he liked the movie.  His response was "YES, but I'd like to watch all of the movies in order, starting with Apollo 1."  :)

I couldn't stop laughing as I left the room...   ;D

Apollo 13 was NASA's finest hour (although I'm sure that line was written into the script years after the fact).

A 10 year old doesn't need to see Apollo 1.

Well I lived without a TV for about a year and We didn't have a computer. So I had nothing to do except  read books (encyclopaedias, History books, text books e.t.c). So my skills were tip top.

Although reading through the space race mishaps really makes me laugh :D

Just goes to show, Flight Simmers are highly intelligent & like reading.

I myself know a lot about World War 2 & I'm fascinated by it. And I also like Flight Simulator of course. Not bad for a 13 year old. ;)
