Man, have you been reading about this stuff?  Until I read about this, Haggis was the most disgusting thing I had ever seen.  This is worse...   :P

Basically, they take all of the meat scraps, cartilage, and everything else they can't use. mash it all together, then spray it with ammonia hydroxide to kill any E. Coli floating around on it.  This is the stuff they use for dog food and they want US to eat it.  I think I'll pass... >:(

Believe it or not, this stuff has been used for human consumption since the 70s when it was first approved.

I said it when I first heard about this stuff... And I will say it again... I thought the food tasted so much better when they were using this stuff instead of real meat

The other side of it, as the world becomes more and more populated, processes that take the scraps that would otherwise be thrown out and make them into something edible, not matter how gross it appears or sounds, may become more important.  Everyday we find new ways to produce more food with the resources we have, for a growing record number of people worldwide.

Pay a visit to the kitchen of 'zeeland' in holland, especialy the south has used many organ meats in their cooking like cow-tongue with madeira sauce and chicken-hearts with the chicken. ;)

When we served it to the neighbours we didn't tell them what it was and they loved it,untill they knew what it was. ;D
