I suspect that there are many old Fogies, and a few younger Fogies amongst us, who were involved in the early days of Home Computing....

...!
As Alex has recalled, my interest in computers started in the early 1970's with the various Games Consoles, and the first of the Home Computers; Apple IIe, quickly followed by the classic Sinclair (Timex) Z80, Z81 and the wonderful Sinclair Spectrum 48K, and the Commodore C64...Amstrad CPC 464, BBC B.....etc...etc...!
We all spent many hours in each others bedrooms busy typing out various programs on our 8-Bit computers, in BASIC and Machine Code, with amazing results, and learning all the time!
My house is overflowing with all those old Computers and Consoles, and all their mountains of Software and Hardware!
The 8-Bit Computers were followed by the various 16-Bit Computers Atari 1024 and the lovely Amiga 500 and 1200 (which I still run)...
...and then came the 32-Bit PC's...and all our Bedroom programming suddenly came to a standstill with the introduction of "Desktops" with their versions of MS "Windows"...and none of us could program in 32 Bits!...(The addresses are far too long!)...

...

...!
But my love of 8-Bits still carries on today, and I still spend many happy hours programming my Sinclair Spectrum 48K's, C64's, Amstrad 464, etc... etc...JOY!...

....!
The birth of the first 8-Bit Home Computers was a milestone in modern Computing, and fondly remembered by we early programmers!
The name "Fozzersoft" still remains, together with "Microsoft"... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

P.S...Uncle Bill was slightly more successful than me!..
