Posted: Wed Sep 07, 2011 3:13 pmThe colloquial term may sound like 'pucka' in the old New England iteration; actually, it's pucker brush (also pecker brush), describing wild scrub bushes, small evergreens and the like, that tend to scratch about the trodders ankles, sometimes embedding nettles in ones pants, socks or their nettles often fall into ones shoes or low-cut boots; quite iritating, especially in the latter instance.I remember a buddy referring to being out in the pucka (?) bushes...
