I got thinking about one of your comments in a post about the aircraft being yellow for training I mentioned and how much easier they would be to spot if they went down.

As you scroll down through the page you will notice the all yellow aircraft used here in Canada, but take a closer look at it...there is a glass canopy for winter operations.
Some were also flown off skis during the winter.

We also called the aircraft the PT26 Cornell...

The PT19 United States Military livery I believe was the blue fuselage with yellow wings.

I believe all the US basic trainers of the era were blue fuselage + yellow wings.  I love the look of it with the closed canopy though :o
