Goodly morning all... :)

Yesterday several float aircraft landed here and are parked at the old marina, the new 700+ slip one is being built.

Many are hoping the powers to be have the foresight to have mooring for float and seaplanes.

As this is a long weekend holiday here there are many activities going on.

A huge country and western performance for the three days has drawn in hundreds of camping trailers, tent campers, many yachts that are not involved in the world tour which there are two going on that I know of

At Airventure I've seen (civilian-registered) Gooses and DC-3s that would (sort of) fit that description... room for bunks and a galley. There's a Sikorsky S-38 still flying that I believe is also similarly equipped. A Beech 18 might also work as a "camper".
But if you're willing to do without a galley, there are many aircraft, especially amphibs, that would do well as campers. Just need to be able to lay down in it to sleep, with folding or removable seats. Republic Seabee, Stinson 108, etc.

Thanks Mark and Big Truck...now a flying Motor Home...may not be too far into the future... ;)

Sean I have heard of most of those, the galley we had on the Douglas DC3s, 4s and Consolidated Canso/Catalina were very good.

Nah. We hardly have any Air shows here and when we do there are just a bunch of old f-5's doing barrel rolls :(

I missed the Sportsman Show and the Boat Show again this year, have not been in four or five years as they have them so early in the year.

I do remember seeing at one of the shows an amphibious aircraft like the Cessna 185 or 207 that a tent could be attached with several sections, sleeping, cooking and entertaining or relaxing in.

Everything was compact right down to the porta toilet and wash stand.

Now the old girl and I had our own way of doing things when going air camping, we even had an inflatable air mattress, lawn chairs and all the amenities while still keeping the bird within limits.

I am sure there must be a link or company somewhere that builds items specifically for fly in camping... ;)
