Good morning all... :)

We are just getting ready to head up to the bugsmasher field to help get things ready for our Canada Day celebrations....
-fly in breakfast...pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs...etc
-childrens games
-best looking bug smasher...this will be hard as everyone
was here yesterday cleaning and polishing
-spot landing contest
-flour bombing
-BBQ...hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, salads, home made  desserts...etc
Last year we roasted a whole pig on the spit over an open fire and there was a lot of food left over so this year we will do the pig roast later and combine it with a fresh corn on the cob event.

Some of the Old Retired Rocking Chair Flying Geezers will show off their musical skills by playing their various musical instruments and singing (good grief... ;D) around a large wood campfire (hope they don't burn the club house or a hangar down... ;D)

We have a (Drunk) Bus that takes members and guests back and forth to their homes...that has worked well the last several years and the company puts on three buses later in the evening... :)
No drinking and driving here... ;)

Canada will be celebrating 144 years with the wonderful presence of the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge (William and Catherine) in Ottawa, our nations capital.
That will be huge... ;)

We wanted to invite Prince William and Princess Kate here today who by the way got a welcome yesterday that showed the Monarchy is very much alive in Canada and our Military says that will not change...well done Military... ;)

Anyways the politicians had these two wonderful folks booked in Ottawa....HMMM.... :P....they probably would have more fun here.... :)

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Happy Canada Day!  Looks like William and Kate had a fun day on Parliament Hill...  ;)

Nice passes by the CF-18's and the Snowbirds over the celebrations in Ottawa.  8-)

Good morning all... :)

Thanks for all the comments... :)

Canada Day went off great, other than I ate one or two many hot dogs... ;D

We left on an unplanned trip on July 2nd right after Canada Day to try and catch a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their well received trip here.

Well we missed them as the holiday traffic added two extra hours to the six hour drive.

Teenagers to folks in their forties were ecstatic to catch a glimpse of the Royal Couple in every Province of Canada they appeared.

We entered the Province of Ontario from the Province of Quebec near Timmins and made our way south staying at only one hotel on the 9th of July.

The rest of the trip we stayed with relatives and friends, I did not stop at many bugsmasher fields because the summer traffic was just horrendous and this will probably be our last driving trip, train travel looks much more attractive to both of us.

The four days we spent in the Province of Quebec with friends and relatives was wonderful.

;D     ;D   LOL

Thanks Larry...fresh produce is very hard to come by right now with folks buying to go away to the cottage and camping... :)

It would seem folks shop right after work on a thursday so that they can try and beat the heavy traffic on friday leaving the city.

The transient boaters buy everything they can get their hands on at the farmers market also as the farmers market is next to the docks.

I kept telling the old girl...
Pork and Beans in a can is good enough for me...never got a smile from her either.... ;D
