hello everyone, i am new here and thought i would intro myself as i couldnt find anywhere else to post this.
My name is Chris ferguson and i live in Dunedin New Zealand.I have been practicing on FSX demo for a few months and only recently obtained FSX delux. Its simply awesome, i am still learning so any tips for a beginner would be appreciated. I like to fly bush pilot sort of missions and have been flying the Cessna 208 caravan and also the piper cub, nice aircraft to learn on i think.
I look forward to searching through this forum and learning heaps.

Tip #1, would be to read posts, especially in Flight Simulator X in the very first section. And at the top of that section there are what we call stickies (permanently at the top)

that have some very beneficial information.

And you have an excellent start by not only posting an introduction, but in the correct section.

There is a FSX Download section for just about everything you could want and do not be afraid to ask questions...like Larry said...there are no stupid questions...

Welcome on-board Chris, the FSX is an excellent place to learn about FSX stuff and the Flight School forum is great for flying knowledge.
There are a lot of seriously wise old birds lurking around here with a wealth of knowledge to share as well as one maniac with a bridge fetish... but you'll find out all this in due course I'm sure.
How are things in Dunedin these days?

You should be right at home here. Check the screenshots forums and you'll see many of us here frequently fly bush planes, and Flying Trucker is a warehouse of knowledge when it comes to "bugsmashing" 8-)

hey thanks for the welcomes guys.
I have been doing a few missions allready,if thats waht you call them.Been flying the cessna 208 caravan up the Iditarod trail in alaska, that was fun, plus also doing some hoping in and out of fields around new zealand.
question. after logging a flight plan i would like to know when flying the flight plan using VFR how do you know to change your  heading at waypoints.All i have been doing is checking the flight analysis.

Use a screen grab utility like Fraps or MGrab

Alternatively, you can push the "V" key by default......your shots show up in Start/Pictures

I do feel compelled to warn you regarding the risks of increased flightsim flying. It can lead to an obsession, and cause you to get burned out with FS in the future if you aren't careful

I started using FS95, got hooked, and continued flying with FS98, CFS, FS2000, FS2002, CFS2, FS2004, FSX.

I've logged thousands and thousands of real time sim time in the 15 or so years, and I slowly got burned out with the flightsim. I haven't flown it in over a year and a half
