The best "poor mans food" I've ever come up with is this:
cook some ramen noodles without the flavor packet.
Drain most of the water.
Place the noodles in a wok or teflon skillet.
Add frozen vegetables of your choice.
(there are many stir fry assortments available, but use whatever you like)
Then add the ramen flavor packet.
Stir fry until the veggies are done, add water if necessary to keep the noodles from burning. When it's done, everything should have a kind of glaze from the noodles and the flavor packet stuff.
Good food! and you can throw in some cooked chicken or beef or whatever if you want to get fancy with it. Best of all, it's a very cheap meal.
