Goodly morning all...

Well the largest snow storm of this year has been and gone...dropped about twenty to thirty centimeters in the local area to us.

It was nothing compared to what we used to get in the 40s, 50s and 60s.

Just to do a follow up.

Normally I check my grammar and spelling but somehow that one went right by me...

You folks seem to get more snow than we do.  The Bugsmasher Field only had a total of three feet and that is todate.  Drifting is the problem right now and visibility is down to near zero on one of our major highways in several locations. 

I wouldn't worry about getting a lot of snow this weekend, some flurries mostly.  Whenever they say we are going to get a snow storm it does not seem to amout to much.

Oh and I saw a Cessna 172 on skis which I forgot to mention earlier.  They must purchase their fuel at grass fields with fuel pumps as the aircraft was only on skis and no wheels.  Very few Bugsmasher Strips have fuel trucks.
It was not a local aircraft so no idea where they came in from, probably just visiting.

A lot of folks south of our border do not realize that we do get tornadoes here in Southern Ontario as well.

I saw a barn that was several hundred years old and still being used that was demolished by a tornado.
The insurance company rebuilt a beautiful metal barn for the owners.
Several months later it was destroyed by another tornado.

It would not surprise me to hear that several pork and dairy farms north of us will be buying water this year just because of the lack of snow. 
Very little snow here but we do get strong winds off the lake and bay.

I am sure I mentioned before that when it is cold here, it is a damp cold because of the Great Lakes, bays and rivers where the farther north one travels it is a much drier cold and much more comfortable.
When one goes out they just dress in layers of clothing so we get used to it.

Oh and yes we had an earth tremor several months ago, I was sitting right here at the computer and the desk and my chair moved about eight inches away from the wall.  It was all over in seconds.   I guess the earth tremor followed the Great Lakes.

I made a quick run to the drug store just before dark to get some refills. I had on a short sleeve t-shirt and had the windows down. It was very comfortable. I think it got up to 75 F today. But I dread this summer, the humidity with the heat is awful.

Hi Larry...

That is a comfortable temperature alright.

It is the dampness or humidity that gets to most folks.

We have always been on or near water so there is usually a nice breeze in the summer with the winds somewhat stronger during the winter months.

I do not think we would be comfortable living in your area during the summer season because of the heat and humidity.
