When Voyager 1 was launched... now 33 years later she is nearing the edge of the Solar System.
And unlike many more youthful space exploration devices she is still working 8-)

I thought one went beyond Pluto several years ago--like in the late 90s. Maybe I have not been paying attention...
I am homebrewer. I had 633 posts when for some unknown reason, my account disappeared...

It's amazing that they are still running.
The Hubble was only intended to work for about five years. It's been fixed time and time again. And thankfully so. Those pictures from the Deep Field are amazing...

I thought one went beyond Pluto several years ago--like in the late 90s. Maybe I have not been paying attention...
I was told a long time ago that I was further out in space than Pluto -- I haven't seen either of them pass by me yet... :D

maybe we will have to wait 100 years to when they will come back with the name V_ger, flying a huge space ship and become like a child ..that was the stry of the first star trek movie what a piece of waste, the worst star trek movie ever made.
I watched it a couple weeks ago... one of those old VHS tapes we mentioned. :P
