Here, a harmless chemical has been released, possibly by pranksters on Vancouver Island. However in some humans
it can cause.. "severe reactions in humans. Side effects can include nausea, hives, and even death from anaphylactic shock."
"Known for its chum salmon runs, the river is also home to eagles and other sensitive wildlife. "

[color=#000000]Guess Fogerty and crew were psychic. ::)

On the other hand, isn't it a bit early for St. Paddy's Day?

Ummm....

Water samples now prove the cause of the water's unusual colour was the presence of fluorescein, a tracing product usually used to find leaks and diagnose medical conditions and is non-toxic.

Later in the article:
While the chemical is non-toxic, it can cause severe reactions in humans. Side effects can include nausea, hives, and even death from anaphylactic shock.

How can the chemical not be toxic if it can kill you? ::)

Guess they meant non-toxic to most and did not want to include the others in the group so they could say non-toxic. Seems to me this is getting to be the way to go these days, especially with prescription drugs. Now why in

the world would I ever want to take a prescription drug that had a chance of killing me? I think our "protection agencies" need a re-haul, EPA, FDA, etc. How can the same government force you to use a product (seat belt &

helmet laws) while at the same time allowing major drug companies to put deadly drugs on the market? And I don't mean deadly if you abuse or overdose, deadly to some at prescribed dosage. And this would include toxic

non-toxic chemicals too.

Perhaps just a case of 'generally non-toxic'? As in, peanuts aren't poisonous, but they can still kill some people.

Somewhere someone will always be allergic to something.
