Goodly morning all...

The old girl is almost ready to go and get saved at church, I am staying home, several important things to do like post on the Simviation Forums...

Unfortunately we were not allowed to wear halloween themed clothes at work today. Happy holiday 

..a recent program on my Radio stated that Halloween in England is no longer popular as it used to be in the past.
Its often more of an annoyance to many people, who make their feelings known by sticking warning messages on their front doors....(I have a camouflaged Bear Pit in my front path).... [smiley=evil.gif]...!

...and there is always the worry about young children roaming the streets in the darkness of the evening, (which is why my Bear Pit is camouflaged).

It is much more popular in the USA, according to reports...
...so you can keep it...over there....Thank-you... ...!

Don't know about you Paul but I don't recall celebrating Halloween at all when I was young. When my daughter was little we used to have a Halloween party for a few friends. They used to dress up & play games like Apple bobbing. We certainly wouldn't have allowed them to go round annoying the neighbours with this "Trick or Treat" nonsense.

Bonfire Night has always been more popular around these parts. I believe it all stems from the same Pagan traditions.

Here in Canada or the Colony as I call it Halloween has grown in popularity for young and old.

Several years back there were folks here that wanted to put an end to Halloween as they said it was worshipping the devil.

These were the same folks who wanted Merry Christmas changed to Happy Holidays, Easter done away with and to change our Canadian National Anthem.

It didn't take us Canucks long to tar and feather and light their pants on fire....

Most children here if they are not a teenager are accompanied by an adult.  We see very little damage done here, maybe the odd window soaped, pumpkin broke or an old scrooge hung in a tree....

During Halloween, Easter, Christmas, etc, "some" of the employees in our Supermarkets can be observed wearing suitable apparel for the occasion....

...and I think to myself...

"Your employer must be paying you a serious amount of money to persuade you to walk around the Store all day, looking like a total Idiot!".... .... ...!

Good evening all...

Well we were down to the Main Lobby several times tonight and the final count was just past 230 children for the evening....

Lots of great costumes, store bought and home made with a lot of effort and imagination included.

I can see lots of goodies left over for those that like sweets, potatoe chips, cheesies, gum etc. etc and placed in the Common Room.   :)

Many parents had on costumes that matched the themes their children were dressed for so it was quite interesting.

Of course, the Catholic Church has the Spanish 'Auto da Fe' and your own 'Bloody Mary' in their CV whereas poor Guy Fawkes was simply trying to blow up Parliament - perhaps a worthwhile task in any century

My "other" job is stocking 7up shelves in various stores all day. While I was out and about I would see people in costume and at first forget that it was Halloween and think "wow, what a weirdo!".

Halloween costumes aren't just for kids you know. A few years ago, my friends as I all went to a costume contest/party at a bowling ally. Before hand, I was on my way to pick up one of my friends and give him a ride to the party. I called and asked if he had his costume ready, he said " no, I still don't know what I want to dress as" I told him he had better figure it out because I would be there in five minutes. When I got there he came out dressed as the Pope. It was a very simple, yet effective costume. He ended up winning the costume contest that night with something that he threw together in five minutes.
