Aside from Paul and myself, are there any others here who really enjoy cooking a good meal?


I would also like the to trade or share some recipes with others here, to expand my palette, and my menu, with some international flavors.

(I'm still waiting for that gravy recipe Paul.    )

Well, Mrs Ex-Pat does not to kitchens Saying that I love cooking and do it very happily. I learnt from a very early age at mothers knee and later at her side. She had her own restaurant 8-)

Somehow, I managed to blow the safety glass right out of the oven door.. A chef should always stay in the kitchen. 

I love cooking, but I don't do a huge amount of it. My dad is teaching me to cook some nice meals for university (and later on in life).

We've cooked (from scratch, with no microwaving)...

Beef curry
Enchilladas with guacamole
Lemon chicken and rice.
...And then some pasta dishes, steaks, etc, later on.

I've done more meals in the past, but those are my latest ones. It definately beats getting cheap food from Morrisons which you just stick in the oven.

Breakfast: 8:00 AM.
Dinner: 1:00 PM.
Tea: 5:00 PM.
Supper: 10:00 PM.

Dinner before tea? What kind of a man are you?

Ultimate Pigs in Blankets

Ingredients:

1 pound kielbasa or smoked sausage
1 package of (10) refrigerated biscuits (I like the flaky kind)

Instructions:

Cut the sausage into 5 pieces.  Microwave them for 2-3 minutes.  This lets some of the grease out and gets them up to temperature.

Stretch the biscuits to the length of the sausage pieces.  Be gentle or you will break them.

Wrap one biscuit around the bottom of a sausage piece and another one around the top.  Pinch the edges of the biscuits together.  Don't worry if they look a little sloppy - this is guy food.

Cook them a little longer than the biscuit recipe says.  Mine say 9-11 minutes and I can barely fit them into a toaster oven so I turn them over after 11 minutes and cook them another 5 minutes.  When they look done they're done.

You might want to let them cool for a couple of minutes before eating them.

Breakfast: 8:00 AM.
Dinner: 1:00 PM.
Tea: 5:00 PM.
Supper: 10:00 PM.

Breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper

Italian Pepper Chops dinner


4 pork chops
1 each - red, yellow, orange, green bell pepper
1 onion (I use sweet onion, but any will work)
1 cup Italian salad oil
salt
pepper
Parmesan Cheese

Preheat oven to 375*F

Pour 1/2 cup salad oil into 9"x13" glass baking dish

place pork chops in the dish

salt & pepper as desired

slice or dice peppers & onions and  place on top of chops

pour remaining salad oil over chops & peppers

Sprinkle Parmesan cheese liberally over top of peppers & chops

bake for 30 minutes on middle rack, uncovered

serve chops covered with peppers & oil with spinach & choice of potato.

Yummy! 

A nice fresh Salad for Tea. (5:00 PM):

Round Lettuce.
Tomatoes.
Radishes.
Spring Onions.
Sliced Corned Beef.
Various Cheeses.
Virgin Olive Oil.
Heinz Original Salad Cream.

Fresh Bread and Butter.

Cup of Tetley Tea.

Next meal: Supper at 10:00 PM... ...!
