Goodly morning all...

July 1st is Canada Day with celebrations from coast to coast.

We went out to a pancake, bacon, ham, sausage breakfast put on by the Lions Club...awesome

Search and Rescue have a large display going on right now, they  have people dropping into the water from Hercs and then picked up by helicopters.  Seems like there is five or six hundred folks watching that right now.

Won't be able to make it to the bugsmasher field today, our son has the Brown Bess ready to fire and has celebrations there on the go.
Spot landings, flour bombings, seaplane race (new to me) and lots and lots of food.
Looks like a very nice day for everything and the old girl has several dishes waiting to be carried out along with who knows what else.   ;D

There is so much going on I don't know where to go first...

Goodly morning all...

Well a great time was had by all....

The ladies had more than enough food with lots of left overs for today....

The fireworks started at 21:45 and lasted five minutes or so. Gosh they were expensive this year but our son and neighbours did a fine job.

Never got any flying in as we were late getting there, too many other things to see was part of the problem.  The police were everywhere so staying at the speed limit is a must.  They have a zero tolerance level now with drivers.  No seat belt, say goodby to two hundred dollars and perhaps points, don't even ask if there was a minor and no seat belts. 

We saw this morning a dozen million dollar or better sail and power boats leaving the port.  They were here since yesterday, this is the start of the Trent Water Way and as the ships/boats go up the sysetem at different dates and times there is a group coming down.  It can take several weeks or longer depending how long they spend in each port along the way.
Once across the lake they enter the American inland water system which can take another month or so.
Quite a trip and it goes on and on all summer.

They were all flying the United States and Canadian Flags, there are several large United Kingdom ships here flying the three flags of the nations but they have not left yet. 

We heard the Tall Ships will make a visit but not sure if they will stop here or not.

Aircraft going in and out of the airport this morning, looks like a busy day in aviation again.
