Sitting around in the rain.

Good evening all... ;)

Been a rainy cold damp day here today and I had some farmers drop in to share a wobbly pop and chew the rag around the wood fire in the hangar.

The old girl had some nattering nannies doing a quilt thing or whatever they do and she did make us a few treats to go with our wobbly pop.

We did not get hail but I have heard some of the area did.

Well these fellas were not pilots but many of their neighbours are flying farmers and they do support the local bugsmasher corn roasts and BBQs. :)

One thing led to another and I was surprised how knowledgeable some of these fellas are about aircraft.

We talked (chewed the rag) about many things including our leave from the community near the end of the month but mostly about aircraft.

I guess we discussed the beauty of aircraft a fair bit, I was surprised these fella's liked the looks of the new jets from Airbus and Boeing over the older prop jobs from Douglas.

So after everyone left I thought I would compile a list of aircraft I flew or did not fly that I thought were beautifully uniquely designed.
Here they are and in no special order:

[color=#000000]That's quite a list Doug. Some, I am not familiar with, so will have to look them up later.

I am not a pilot, but I have flown in as a passenger or washed and/or changed the oil in and/or fueled:

DC-3
Martin 404
Beech Bonanza
Cessna 152
Cessna 172
Cessna 337
Piper Cub
Piper Comanche
Beech Baron
Mooney Bravo
MD11 (don't like that one)
and a few more I can't remember right now.

Now if Sim flying counts, I can extend the list about ten fold.

Victor
-Valiant..."V Bomber"...cold war

You mean Vickers Valiant. The Handley Page Victor is another V Bomber which you've already listed.

I would have to add 3 more. I've flown in one of them. 8-)

Vickers Supermarine Spitfire. Sheer classic beauty.

Hawker Hunter. The jet equivalent of the Spitfire. Probably the most beautiful jet fighter ever.

Concorde. The most beautiful airliner ever to fly.

This was Doug's question.
So after everyone left I thought I would compile a list of aircraft I flew or did not fly that I thought were beautifully uniquely designed.

It would be interesting to see a list of aircraft you've actually flown Doug, even if you didn't particularly like them. :)

Goodly morning all... :)

That is also quite a list Larry...well done... ;)

Thanks Doug...corrections made in my post... ;)

If I remember correctly there was a post somewhere at one time of the aircraft folks flew and owned.

An excellent list with components that I believe anyone would have a hard time questioning.
If I may add a bit of my opinion to the mix:

Eurocopter AS365/HH-65 "Dauphin/Dolphin"
