That is really weird... how does it work?
Its called a negative afterimage.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AfterimageRed-green cones are paired together in the foveal region of your retina (also present are blue-yellow, and in the peripheral part of the retina there are black-white rods), when red turns on, green turns off because these are opponent colors (one is negative of the other).
