Not sure where this fits exactly, mods feel free to move it. :)

Well, I'd like like to see Les Chevaliers Du Ciel, and I can't find any Europe region DVDs, but will an American version work in my computer?

It probably will. I had the same problem wit 'One six right'. A DVD about van Nuys airport and general aviation. No European version but US. Works fine on my pc but when I put it in my 'normal' dvd player it doesn't play right.

The biggest problem is the difference between the American NTSC and European PAL/SECAM system. Play an NTSC disc on a PAL system and the colours are wrong or you get a black and white video image. Same way the other way around. Now most dvd players in computers play both systems.

DVD's mastered for PAL Television systems are required to work on British (European) Television Receivers.

The NTST system is used on American TV Systems.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PAL

There is a warning that the DVD is mastered for NTST Television systems.

Paul.

Edit: NTST: Ta, Doug.. ;)...!

I have never understood the need for multiple regions for DVDs.  Can't we all just agree on one format?
