I remember when I was just knee high to a grasshopper, that very little plastic exsisted and things you purchased were made to last. I believe in the 50's we did have Bakelite as electric insulators and radio cases etc. Most of my toys were made of wood or tin, coated in lead based paint. Plastic exstrusion started becoming more convenient as 60's rolled near. In 2010 I glance around my home office and nearly every thing here has at least some form of plastic on it.
As a fan of deep water sport fishing, this article disturbs me.
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/1004 ... ocean_junkI apologize for the rant, but I would love to see a fleet of fishing trawlers sentenced to a year of plastic recovery with specialized nets.
I'll close now.. I dont envision many replies to this.. I just wanted to express my thoughts.
