Air National Guard? Should be a piece of cake. Now, if you want a REAL challenging job in the military....

Very nice. After you get a little experience, you should look into getting some civilian certificates for avionics. I don't remember what the certificates are called, I'm not an avionics guy, but I think that they all involve a written test only. If I remember right, anyone can take the tests too, no schooling is required so all you have to do is study and know your job.

I realize how easy the guard is and that it is probably a gateway for a decent future in avionics, but my decision was basically economic. I've had a few temp. jobs recently but I've pretty much been laid off since Xmas 2008. Since I want to return to school (Engineering and possibly dabble in teaching), and I can't afford it, this seemed like a good option. Not only financially, but experience-wise, a great resume addition, and it won't hurt the personality/self-esteem/confidence either.
