Computer monitor types, plus the individual brightness and other settings on each monitor, can greatly affect how you view the screenshots and photographs in these forums.
What type of monitor do you use, and in general terms, how bright do you have your settings?

Mine is a 19" Dell 1901 FP LCD @ 1280 x 1024, running at 80 brightness, hue 0, saturation 100, color temp control @ 6500k, not that I have any idea what that means or how/why to change it.

Two 19" Acer LCD wide screens at 1440 x 900 & set on extended desktop.
I've always used the monitor's auto-adjust tab for all the settings.

Mine is a 19" wide-screen LCD monitor running at 1440 x 900 native resolution.
..and a separate 17 inch 170C Philips LCD Monitor with a maximum resolution of 1280 X 1024,
I imagine that's the native resolution Paul.
"All LCD screens can actually display only a single given resolution referred to as the native resolution. This is the physical number of horizontal and vertical pixels that make up the LCD matrix of the display. Setting a computer display to a resolution lower than this resolution will either cause extrapolation. This extrapolation attempts to blend multiple pixels together to produce a similar image to what you would see if the monitor were to display it at the given resolution but it can result in fuzzy images."http://compreviews.about.com/od/monitors/a/LCD-Monitor-Buyers-Guide.htm

...yep...
In "Properties", that is the maximum resolution that can be set on my LCD Monitor.
(Which is why I have problems in displaying Sim V Screen shots which are 1024 pixels, or greater, in width in the YaBB Window)
Paul....

...!

What I mean is that the description maximum resolution does not apply to LCD monitors. When I first got mine I wondered what this "native resolution" was all about so made it my business to find out.

I use a 46" Sony Bravia. Yes, my sim pit is my living room couch, with wireless keyboard and mouse, surround sound, and big screen.

19" TFT LCD 1440x900. Probably something like 700:1 for contrast (my gaming monitor is 2000:1 but I don't use that for SimV)
