Anybody else seen the banner ad for Boeing's tanker?  Are they that desparate to sell the KC-767?

Haven't seen the banner add yet, but late night infomercials

I think it needs some good PR, particularly as the A330's (IIRC) just had its boom certification completed, or is in the process of doing so.

With the new iteration of KC-X happening in the near future, it needs all the publicity it can get, particularly as recent orders have gone Airbus' way, with Japan and Italy still the only ones with KC-767s, or orders for them.

Now I've seen ads on TV too.  They are really pushing citizens to petition Congress to give the contract to Boeing.  They even go as far as saying their tankers are battle proven.

Their legacy tankers? Certainly. The 767, maybe not! :)

I did out of curiousity.  It takes you to a webpage to sign a petition to Congress to vote American.  I am honestly surprised at the campaign from Boeing, especially some of the lies being told.  Combat proven?  Not the model they are trying to sell.  50,000 American jobs, try about 5,000, which is about the same number of jobs Airbus plans to create by setting up their plant in Mobile, Alabama.

They sold me, just ordered my first tanker, can't believe you all are going to pass this up.  Guess I'll be the only SimV member with his own tanker.

Hmmm...where to park it...
