Do you attend professional/collegiate sporting events?

I'm thinking of the big events like NFL, MLB, NHL, NCAA football and basketball, PGA Tour ...
I used to get free tickets to Doral (golf) but that deal died when it became a WGC event. I could probably get free admission to the Honda Classic (also golf) but it's such a minor event, they move it around every year and it's a 40 mile drive so it's not worth attending for free.
If there were any event I would consider attending it would be a PGA Tour tournament - if I could get free tickets. The parking is usually free if inconvenient. You can go on Thursday or Friday when it isn't so crowded and you won't miss any of the weekend action. Most of the players give free autographs if you're willing to wait. And it's the only sport where you can get with within 5-10 feet of a player as he does his thing (and yes, I've been within 5-10 feet of Tiger Woods as he has hit 300 yard drives that move so fast you can barely track them).
What about the NFL?
I could buy a package deal for $150. Includes bus trip and upper level end zone seats. And $7 (16 oz) beer through the third quarter. Or I could sit at home in air conditioned comfort where a 16 oz beer is much colder and costs about $1.
I can repeat the same scenario for MLB, NHL, NCAA. Why bother traveling when I can watch at home or in a local sports bar?
So what do you guys do?
