I just googled up "resumes" and tons of free stuff came up, samples, etc.  Try it.

Have you applied online anywhere?  I once had to get a copy of my resume and had no way of getting to it, so I went to one of the places I'd applied online and pulled off a copy.

The resume format depends on the particular job for which you ae applying.  The format in the art world is different from the format in the medical world, which is different from the one in the IT world, and etc..  Search for info on job specific formats.

Spend some time really thinking about what kinds of core skills the job really requires, and then scour your own talents and experiences to see where they might apply to that particular job.  Just because you have not worked directly IN a specific job does not mean that you do not have experience and skills that apply directly TO that job.

Then write up those skills as areas of strength using action words ("coordinated", "facilitated", "developed", etc).

Hope this helps.

best,

My dad has been a successful small businessman for most of his life and he told me when i was making my first resume is you want something simple with all your education and information easy to find etc. (this was only his opinion, although he looked at a lot of resumes.

Check your email.

The attachment was way too long to list here.

Also do a google search on resume action verbs. Very important!!

Needless to say...didn't get the job, didn't even get to the interview.  They called it off after they discovered I have no "Customer Service" experience even though 90% of the job doesn't require it.  In their words I'm not "Competitive" enough >:(

So moving on...to the point where a resume is a must, out of online applications, and also any basic...no resume needed...jobs.  So back to the drawing board...or rather the keyboard :-/

Google was a mess, that's why I came here, I browsed so many sites that night looking for information that didn't seem to actually exist without a credit card I got a headache :-[

When it comes to the layout...basic works now.  Something simple and clean, this is heading out to the masses now, so a "one fits most" layout would be perfect...with the occasional "specialized" layout here and there.

Aussie....thanks for finding that one...best source I've had to go from so far. :)

Mark...fired off an email a little bit ago ;)

Thanks for the insight so far...greatly appreciate it. :)
