PS: Here's another odd name that someone emailed to me.

How would you pronounce this child's name?

                  Le-a

Leah??............No
Lee-A..............No
Lay-a??...........Nope
Lei??...............Guess again

This child attends a school in  Livingston Parish, LA. Her mother is irate because everyone is getting her name wrong.
It's pronounced 'Ledasha'.
Oh yes, you read it right.
When the Mother was asked about the pronunciation of the name, she said,"the dash don't be silent."
:)

One of the boys in my class at school was named after all the kings of England since William I. I think he beat that hands down. ;)

Takes all kinds, don't it?

The concept of practicality goes down in favor of impressing who?

I don't think there's any restrictions on how many names a person can have. Some people don't have a middle name at all.

The classmate at school I mentioned had 9 middle names. His first name was Robert & let's say his last name was Smith.
His full name was Robert, William, Henry. Stephen, Richard, John, Edward, James, Charles, George Smith.

I am always delighted when someone asks my middle name... I guarantee them they'll never guess it in a million years. Most people try for a while... until they realize I don't have one.  :D

....happily lapsed (and unconfirmed)
Catholic...  ;D

I know of no restrictions for the number of names. Once upon a time -- and in some places yet -- a person had only one name. My grandfather had two middle names, continued via my uncle twice on; one of my uncles had three middle names.

I am always delighted when someone asks my middle name... I guarantee them they'll never guess it in a million years. Most people try for a while... until they realize I don't have one.
I knew the middle and surname I had were my Dad's; my Mom then told told me my first name was her cousin's -- now I have no name at all!

The advantage of having a middle (or more) name(s) is when the Child grows up and decides that he/she doesn't like their first name they can use the alternative name...;)...!

I like all three of my names, first, middle, and surname... :-*...!

Paul... 8-)..!

Phobias: Is there a fear of having too many/insufficient names?... ::)... ;)... ;D...!
