Since the update I can no longer access this site from work anymore  :'(

Since the update looks like Simviation is now a Game site.  :'(
my work blocks all games sites. and was lucky with simviation until now. I can still look at all the files but can not access the forums. Any Chance Pete can take out the Game tag on the web page? wishful thinking but I miss my Simviation at work. Feel like Homer Simpson with no T.V. or Beer.

Thanks for letting me Rant!

The site has been tagged as a game site for a long time, at least on the Department of Defense network.  I haven't been able to access it from work in ages, filtered as a gaming site  ;)

They might have just noticed it in the proxy logs and decided to check it out.  Anything with Sim in it will tend to catch a network security officer's eye eventually.  I got away with it for a while, and when they blocked it on the proxy I went around the proxy and got to it, but now they block it on the firewall, so I have to wait until i get home now.   >:(

At school I can get on by pinging it up and using the ip address.  You can't log in and it looks weird but it eases the pain...

You Blokes should be slaving at work, shooting the enemy, or getting on with your School lessons, not wasting your time browsing "Game" sites on the Internet during the day!.... ::)...!

Back to the Mill Stone grind with you all!

(Its fantastic being "Retired!... :-*...)... ;D...!

Paul... ;D... ;D...!

Well said Paul. No wonder the country's in such a state. ::)

Good job I'm not in charge. It would be instant dismissal for anyone caught browsing the Internet during working hours.

Hear hear! You are getting payed to work, not spend your time surfing the internet. To complain that certain auxiliary and irrelevant sites are blocked, is simply a farce. Completely ludicrous.

On the other hand humans are far more productive with fun breaks on a regular basis. The key for productivity is to have a focussed and interesting task to get back to. Google creative staff are encouraged to play games, either physical or video, during their workday ....  :)

If I can find a way to get Simviation past the US Army and other corporate networks' filtering I will :)

That would depend on the business. Can't afford to have people continually browsing the Web when there's orders to process & goods to be sent out of the door. My old company would have gone bust years ago if it had operated like that. The staff are treated well but expected to work hard for their money. Play is for after hours.

No comment. :P

Hey, once you finish the work then it is all fine!

We spent business and IT lessons playing the wonderful game, Copter, trying to get a new class high score. I think one of the teachers even apologised for distracting me from it, haha.  ;D  This was of course after we had finished everything for that year and had nothing else to do.

They're worth 5 grades, or a BTEC first diploma... I'm not complaining!

It was after the coursework was finished anyway.

That doesn't mean anything to me I'm afraid. Not convinced it means much to the average employer either. I'm not getting at you but the system. If you'd finished the course early then it obviously wasn't planned properly.
