'London' airport name change row

A row has started over Oxford Airport which changed its name to London Oxford Airport despite being about 60 miles away from the capital.

The airport has no direct transport links to London

:-? When will this stupidity end?

Shoreham is as close to London as Oxford & has a direct rail link to Victoria. Using that logic they'll be naming it London Shoreham soon. Calling it Brighton City Airport is bad enough. ::)

Haha, that's as worse as in Belgium !
They wanted to rename Antwerp ( city airport ) to Brussels North with the following reason : It would be better for the airport because the only city other people know is Brussels ?
It's separated 100km of each other ? -_-

10 years ago "Kent International Airport" at RAF Manston was known as London Manston Airport. I believe that title disappeared in 2005, and is a bit further than Oxford! ;D

With all the flights that come in from the UK, maybe we can change Orlando-Sanford (KSFB) to London-Orlando airport ??
