Last thing we all needed at a time of economic hardships was someone like Madoff ripping people off.  And yeah, we taxpayers foot the bill to keep him inside now.  

They oughta stuff him in a time machine and send him back to Ancient Rome.  He won't get off so lightly there.

Bad part is, the money is still gone!  Putting him in jail does nothing to make his victims whole.  I've said, offer him the death penalty, but if he turns in the money he will get off easy.  At least his victims will get something back.

Trouble is he will (in the UK at least)only have to serve HALF of that sentence!.....He'll be out and enjoying his ill gotten gains in 75 years from now........ ...at the ripe old age of 146.... 8-)

That's because a child rapist won't have as easy a time in prison.
