Looks to me like he refused to co-operate after his first shocking experience, so got what he deserved as far as I'm concerned.
Sick and tired of the police no longer being able to do their job without the fear of reprisals. It's why few respect them any more and crime is on the rise.

The guy was clearly resisting arrest and tried to punch and kick the officers. Thanks to the lawyers and politicians we really have the police we deserve :-/

What i don't agree with though is the police B*****izing members of the public for daft and stupid things, i.e walking out of a shop with un-opened booze in a bag, and getting stopped and fined there and then (has happened to someone i know, was buying some from the shop near me to consume at my flat), And also giving a Fine to an 19 year old lad who had bought some Cigarettes, and basically walked away from the shop and lit up one...

Looks to me like the first shock had no effect, subject fail to comply even after that, and was subsequently administered another jolt.

If one is too stupid/drunk/drugged to fail to be compliant the first time, then the only LOGICAL next step is to put a second 'zappin' on him!

What would they rather have, a full-on brawl that possibly sends an officer or two to the E.R., along with the perp, or a judicious use of some voltage that ensures the officers go home to their families in the same condition as when they left the house that day.

AND!  It almost would appear that a bystander or two was almost gonna be considered for the next taser encounter by stickin' their stupid noses into business that was of no concern to them!  Spectators turned participants....just what the officers needed!  NOT!!!

IMHO!

They are being arrested...
They got shocked once to stop them fighting.
They know they are beaten.
They tried to struggle more...
They got shocked again.


Makes perfect sense. The police had the power to stop the person and they used a non-lethal method to do so. If you complain when they are stopping someone from breaking the law, then why do we bother to have a law? As nemo pointed out, sometimes the police make bad judgement but that is their problem and we can do something about it. Here, however, they struggled and the police were trying to do their job. I don't know the full story but say if they had just nicked your brand new car would you tell the police to stop being so aggresive or would you prefer them to zap him again and get him behind bars?


The G20 thing was completely uncalled for, but here it is clear that the person was fighting back.

This is local to me ....... well local as in Nottingham 20 miles away. It was shown on the national news yesterday and we were told the police had started an internal investigation and no police officers were being charged.
Today the Local news have tracked down the man being arrested and they have added further details.

1. The offender was being arrested for an alleged GBH.
2. The police are allowed to use the taser as many times as is required to subdue the offender.
3. The alleged offender was drunk and seen to be acting violently before the footage shown.
4. Further investigations are being undertaken into the alleged GBH and the alleged offender has been released on police bail.
5. The alleged offender has been interviewed on the local BBC news .... but didn't want to be identified (this immediately rings alarm bells as to his supposed innocence IMO.)
6. He admitted to being drunk ..... but alleges he doesn't remember anything before being tazered.
7. He's decided that he wants to press charges against the police ..... I'm certain that if the footage had not been shown nationally he would have accepted that he was being an arse and not wanted the 15 minutes of fame he's getting.
7. I've seen worse than this on the fly on the wall TV programmes that seem to saturate late night TV.
9. Where's the footage before the arrest......... gone because it would make the "supposed" violent arrest un-newsworthy.

Just another few a**holes wanting their 15 minutes.

A couple of my cousins and several of my friends are in the Plod and I've heard horror stories of people so high on drugs that the have been tasered and the minute the current goes off they get up to carry on with the feds. Frankly until the police are given more rights and the criminals less then things are going to get a damn sight worse than better (and no I'm not a redneck fascist)

A badguy(s) bust into your house in the middle of the night and starts handing you you arse on a platter.....you call the local police.....

Are you gonna be so anti-cop in that instance.

Tell ya what!  Take a ride-along for a shift if you can.  You will gain some perspective as to what the job entails!

Kicking, with quite some force, I wouldn't expect.

Kicking to tap, however, I could understand. Related demonstration of why tapping in the head would work to try and get the person to relax and into cuffs

Most probably know to the police who have had to deal with this toe-rag before. Sympathy, look in a dictionary, it comes between shit and syphilis.

I love the fact that the general Public, (and Newspaper Media), are now equipped with cameras to record the Excesses used by the shaven-headed, hidden identification, non-hatted, US Marine, Guantanamo Bay look-alike, bully-boys, in the British Police Force, (and elsewhere).... ....!

Toe-rage deserve all their "Come-uppance", AFTER they have been convicted in a Public court.....

..not before!.... as indicated in the many Photographs, Videos, etc, now available on the 'Net, etc... ...!

I often wonder what these "Power-Crazy, Invincible" individuals actually join the "Police Force" for?*.. .......!

The County Court is the place for metering out criminal punishment....

...NOT in the streets of a typical Urban area, by so-called, "Officers of the Law!... ...!

I carefully watch these "Police" individuals, and their responses, on the various TV Documentaries, and I am always surprised that they can possibly get away with their dubious "law-abiding, arresting" activates!
